Certificate and Diploma in Human Resource Management
The Practitioners Programme in Human Resource Management introduces students to the academic disciplines that underlie the effective management of the human resource and explores both the theory and practice of human resource management activities. Students who complete the programme will find their HRM skills and their own personal marketability within the organisation enhanced, as well as their preparedness for further courses of study. This is a combined programme, consisting of a Certificate and a Diploma, each comprising four subjects. Students will not be awarded the Diploma until they have passed all eight subjects
Method Of Assessment
All subjects will be assessed by an external written examination
of three hours’ duration. Candidates will be notified individually of
their results, normally about two months after the examinations. All
results slips show alphabetical grades; it is not the policy of the
Association to disclose marks obtained.
There are four compulsory subjects which are:
1. Introduction to Business
2. Introduction to Business Communication
3. Managing People
4. Personnel Administration
The Practitioners Diploma In Human Resources
All new entrants to the Practitioners Programme in HRM must enter
at Certificate level and, preferably, should have sat and passed all
four subjects of the Certificate before proceeding to the Diploma.
Please note that both the Certificate and the Diploma must be
completed in order to attain the award of the Practitioners Diploma
in Human Resource Management.
The four compulsory papers are:
1. Organisational Behaviour
2. Business Communication and Presentation
3. Human Asset Management
4. Human Resource Development
Practitioners Certificate in Human Resource Management
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
No formal qualifications are required but applicants must demonstrate competence in the English Language by theattainment of one of the following (or equivalent):
1. British Council – Intermediate Certificate in English/Upper Advanced Certificate in English.
2. LCCI – English for Business (EFB) 1st or 2nd level. Pitman/City & Guilds – English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)/English for Business Communications.
3. RSA (OCR) – English language Stage 11.
Or
4. Confirmation by their college of equivalent standard in the use of English.
The decision of ABE Council as to the suitability of the candidate shall be final.
