Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
This is one of the fastest growing professional qualifications in accounting preferred by most business. It has over 150,000 members worldwide in over 156 countries. LBA is accredited by CIMA and is also a centre for its computer based exams. It is a course that has future prospects in the consultancy industry. The programme which has three stages normally takes 3 years to complete. There are job prospects for each of the stages completed. The stages are Certificate, Professional and Strategic. Depending on your experience and prior qualifications, CIMA might exempt a student from certain examinations at their discretion.
A duration of 15 weeks of 30 hours of contact with lecturer is required for the completion of each of the certificate courses below.
C1 Fundamental of Management Accounting
C2 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
C3 Fundamentals of Business Maths
C4 Fundamentals of Economics for Businesses
C5 Fundamentals of Business Law and Ethics
A duration of 15 weeks of 45 hours of contact with lecturer is required for the completion of each of the professional courses below. P1, P2 and P5 are taught for the January semester whilst P4, P7 and P8 are taught during the August semester. Below are the Courses

The Strategic Level of the CIMA course starts in 2010.
The fees for the lectures 2009 /2010 academic year for the CIMA course are (Excluding exams fees payable to CIMA)
£ 2,050 per academic year at the Certificate level
£ 2,250 per academic year at the Professional Level
The fees exclude study text books. It is the responsibility of the student to acquire their own study materials as recommended by the lecturer.
